Child Development Screening

Early Educators within the School District of Weyauwega-Fremont hold preschool screening once every year.  This screening is one of the district’s Child Find efforts to provide improved educational opportunities for young children.

Screening is open to all children, ages 2 to 4 1/2 years old, who have not participated in past preschool screenings sponsored by the district.  This screening is essential for enrollment in the Weyauwega-Fremont Four-Year Old Kindergarten Program.

Children will participate in a play-based screening.  The developmental areas of social, self-help, fine motor, gross motor and language will be observed by the early educators within the School District of Weyauwega-Fremont.  Parents will have an opportunity to learn about many community agencies including: day cares, preschools, Head Start, libraries, police and fire departments, and public health department.  Hearing, vision, and health screenings will also take place by a public health nurse, optometrist and school nurse respectively.
